Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about how virtual perimenopause and menopause care works at Unpaused Medicine.

Is the Hormone Clarity Session a medical consultation?

It is an introductory assessment and educational session intended to help identify areas that may warrant further evaluation. It does not guarantee diagnosis, treatment, medication, or hormone therapy.

Will I receive a hormone prescription during the $49 session?

No. Prescriptions are provided only when medically appropriate after the necessary clinical evaluation has been completed.

What if I want to continue working with Stacy?

Patients who are appropriate for comprehensive care can choose to continue into The Unpaused Method. The $49 paid for the Hormone Clarity Session can be applied toward program enrollment according to the current offer terms.

Do you accept insurance?

Unpaused Medicine is a cash-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. Payment is made at the time of your visit.

Can I use my insurance for medications and labs?

Yes. Any prescriptions are sent to the pharmacy of your choice and run through your normal pharmacy benefits, and lab orders are sent to a local draw site where your insurance is typically billed for the testing. Coverage and cost depend on your individual plan.

Will I get a receipt or superbill for reimbursement?

On request we can provide a detailed receipt or superbill you may submit to your insurance plan for possible out-of-network reimbursement. We cannot guarantee whether or how much any individual plan will reimburse.

Where and when are labs drawn?

If labs are clinically appropriate, orders are placed electronically and you can have them drawn at a convenient local lab or draw site. Timing is individualized — for some hormones the day of your cycle matters, and Stacy will tell you exactly when to go.

Do I need to fast before labs?

Some panels, such as fasting glucose, insulin, and a lipid panel, are best drawn after 8 to 12 hours without food. Water and prescribed medications are usually fine. Your lab instructions will state clearly whether fasting is needed.

What should I do before my first visit?

Complete your Comprehensive Hormone Symptom Assessment, note your most bothersome symptoms and when they started, have a list of your current medications and supplements ready, and bring any recent lab results. Then join from a quiet, private space with a good connection.

How long until I feel a difference?

It varies. Some women notice changes in sleep, mood, or hot flashes within a few weeks of starting a plan, while other symptoms improve gradually over two to three months as your plan is adjusted. The Unpaused Method is built around that follow-up and fine-tuning rather than a single visit.

Is hormone therapy right for everyone?

No. Treatment recommendations are individualized based on symptoms, medical history, risk factors, screening, and clinical appropriateness.

Where are appointments held?

All visits are virtual telehealth appointments held in a secure, private video platform. Stacy Silverman, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC is licensed to practice in Illinois only, so patients must be located in Illinois at the time of their visit.

Start with a conversation, not a commitment.

The $49 Hormone Clarity Session is a private 30-minute virtual visit with Stacy to review your symptoms and map a personal next step. It is an introductory educational and assessment service and does not guarantee a diagnosis, prescription, or hormone therapy eligibility.
